Welcome to the Snow Patrol Volunteers – an initiative designed to make winter a little easier for our neighbours, and build skills and job experience for our community teenagers! Our program pairs residents in need of snow shoveling with local teens looking to gain valuable job experience and log volunteer hours. When it snows more than 2" in a single event, you head to your residence to shovel for them! You have 48 hours from start of snowfall to shovel, meaning that you can fit it in around after school activities and other commitments.
What's in it for YOU? Besides the satisfaction of helping your neighbours and contributing to our amazing community, you'll get: an honourarium at the end of the season, as a thank you for your hard work, a letter of reference, and a job description entry ready to add to your resume! You'll gain valuable, real life job experience along with good karma!

* Pair up with a friend or family member! If you prefer shoveling and chatting, or want to be able to tag team your duties, find a friend/parent/family member and commit to doing the season together!
How to become a patroller:
1. Decide if you'll be a solo or paired Patroller. If you're pairing up with a friend, ensure both patrollers complete the next steps. If you are pairing up with family, only the Patroller needs to complete the next steps.
2. Sign up here.
3. HCA will contact you to pair you with a residence.
*HCA endeavours to pair Patrollers with residences close by, but cannot guarantee proximity.
APPLY BY OCT 15 to ensure you receive all benefits offered! Patrollers register first, and then residents will be invited to register once we know how many patrollers we have.
